Fat people Are Bad for global warming?!!

Friday, May 16th, 2008

I just read a blurb from a research team at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

According to their” research” obese people are a contributor to global warming.

I read the article with a bit of trepidation, wondering what type of gas emission they were blaming fat people for emitting, that was contributing to the green house effect on the planet.

To my relief, their claim had nothing to do with gas, although they didn’t rule it out.

Their findings:

Obese and overweight people required more fuel to transport them, due to their increased bulk.

Obese and overweight people eat more food, consequently  more fuel is required to transport the extra food.

This adds to food shortages, and higher food and energy prices.

The obvious conclusion……Pay attention to this Al Gore………………………..

Drum roll please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cure global warming by…….

Ready for this!!

Put everyone on a diet.

So simple, yet so profound!

Gay Marriage Ban Overturned by California Courts

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Without having very strong feelings either way on the subject of Gay marriage,I do have very strong feelings about the Judiciary imposing its will and law on the American people. The voters of California, in an open and highly legal  and dissected election, did vote to reject the institution of gay marriage. Let me repeat. The voters of the State of Californis, have decisively rejected the legalization of Gay marriage.  Four California State Judges out of seven(4-3 vote) told the citizens of California to f–k off. They know better than the citizens, what’s good and whats right, and if Californian’s don’t like it. they can lump it. How did this happen? It sounds very much like Judicial dictatorship to me. This isn’t consistent with the  intention of the Founding Fathers. This is not separation of powers. Who died and make these four judges ,G-d.

Always pick a crowded, noisy , public place for meeting a blind date

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

I looked at my reflection in the glass door, and nervously brushed an imagined speck of lint from my shoulder.

My wife had left me almost a year ago, and my friends had finally convinced me to begin dating again.

We had been married almost fourteen years, and my dating skills were somewhat erroded .My friends introduced me to the world of Internet dating .

Meeting women on the computer was a bewildering blur of technology, which had to be learned .  Talking to a monitor by typing into  a keyboard was strange at best.  Sifting out the truth from the lies was a full time occupation.

What is there about the internet that turns people into liars?

The first woman I met through  date.com was a school teacher from New York City. Her posted photo was very attractive. She was 5’5, 120 pounds, long blonde hair, big blue eyes, and an attractive saucy personality. Her name was Sharene

We e mailed numerous times, and became quite familiar and comfortable discussing a wide range of topics, including sex and sexual preferences.

When we graduated to phone contact, her voice was soft and rich, and our conversations were far ranging and increasingly intimate.

I looked forward to meeting her face to face, but a series of  familial and professional occurences  on her part, conspired to postponed our  much anticipated “new beginning”.

Most of the Summer passed before we were finally able to coordinate an initial meeting.

I drove into the City. We planned to   meet for Sunday brunch at 1 pm.

She selected an out door Cafe on 33rd St, just off of 3rd Avenue.

I got there early, and anxiously paced the street, my stomach fluttering with  excited anticipation. My eyes searched the distance , following the movement of every slender long haired blonde as they traversed the various streets surrounding my location.

Several months of e mails, phone conversations, and the exchange of a few photos, left me unsure of who or what to expect.

I looked at my watch, It was 1:15. I had been paceing the street for the better part of 40 minutes, and I was beginning to think that  this had been a bad idea.

I walked back to the Cafe. There was a very attarctive blonde waiting just to the right of the front door.

“All right”, I thought to myself.” Worth the wait.”, I took a step towards her,but before I got close, a man who appeared to be her father , exited the Cafe, and gave her a hug , and soft kiss on the cheek.

Discouraged, I turned away, then felt a soft tap on my shoulder.

” Are you Charlie? You look just like your picture, but better.”

I turned, and my heart crashed. Standing before me was a woman, maybe 5’1, 200+ pounds. The hair was blonde, and black, and grey, and very frizzy. Her eyes were blue, but the right eye was higher than her left one, and her skin was ruddy, flaking, and blotchy.

“Sharene?” I asked, hesitantly. Hopeing  against hope, that I was wrong.

Being a gentleman, and this being my first internet date, I took her to brunch. We exchanged polite conversation, then I beat a hasty retreat.

All the way home I kept shaking my head. “Who was this woman, and what happened to my attractive  blonde friend/”

Maybe she was kidnaped by this woman’s brothers, so she could steal a date.

The Democratic Primary ,a Socialist dream

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

It is hard to believe that this Democratic Primary contest is still going on, and on, and on, ad nauseum.

Today Hillary wins big, and further fractures the Democratic party. However, the true Socialists in the crowd have to be loveing this whole mess. In the ultimate liberal Utopia, no one ever wins. Everyone is equal.

No winners, no loosers.but there is one big looser, the United States, and the American public for having to endure this endless dribble.

Please end this, and excuse the expression, “may the best person(politically correct) win”

Yuck!!!!!

I think winning and loosing is what keeps life interesting, otherwise why try!

The good news is sadly Not True

The man captured was not the terrorist in question

If True, The Leader of al Qaida in Iraq , Arrested

Friday, May 9th, 2008

Chalk up one for the good guys. If true, Abu Hamza al Muhajir, leader of al Qaida in Iraq , has been captured.

It is interesting, that he allowed himself to be captured. I always thought that the “code of the west” was, you don’t get taken alive.

Well, all things considered, a victory is a victory. Hopefully this is for real, and not some set up .

Al Qaida, and Muhajir represented the major Suni ally in Iraq, and any disruption is a good disruption.

The Islamo Thugs, worked hard to downplay the death of Muhajirs predecesor, Zarqawi, but the effort to maintain a strong face, has obviously been a strain on all of their resources.

Lets see how easy it will be for them to shrug off another  decapitation to their organization.

     Turn around is fair play

Use of credit cards soar.

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

I have noticed a somewhat new trend in business purchases during the past 6 to 12 months.

I am a stone importer specializing in supplying commercial and upscale residential projects worldwide. Our projects are mainly new construction, including restaurants and hotels.

The scope of this type work is usually handled by a G C  or Construction manager, with a fairly reputable stone installation sub contractor.

Many of these projects are now being handled by the owner acting as their own GC, with a noticable increase in the use of credit card purchases.

This is a troubling trend. Credit cards indicate a lack of bank financing, and produces an exorbitant interest rate on the purchase of materials.

In addition, the banks are raising the interest charges on their card holders in response to the sub prime lending mess. I know I recieved a letter on 2 Citi Bank Credit cards I have, raising my interst charges from 16.5% to 22, or 23%.

There was no explanation for this, except for a vague reference to a reporting agency triggering a review.

My credit card payments have been on time , and in fact I am current on all personal bills. There was no report.I believe this is an attempt to cover some of the losses  Citi  Bank suffered due to their subprime lending practices .

The American public doubling the amount of credit card debt  they incur by switching to plastic purchases in an attempt to cover the higher cost of gas and food,  is playing a very dangerous game..

Paying 20 -30% interest on purchases, is putting the consumer into deeper debt, with high interest rates attached.

Wait until all these new debts and high interest charges become a struggle to pay. The poor choices and frivolous use of credit by banks and financial institutions  is just the tip of the iceberg.  The worst is yet to come.

BEWARE

Hillary Clinton said”Don’t sell the filly short”

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

Last week in a campaign speech, Senator Clinton compared herself to the only filly in the Kentucky Derby.

“Bet on the filly “She said. “Don’t sell the filly short.” The only female in the race.

I find it oddly disquieting, that the filly ,Eight Bells, came in second in the race, loosing to the big favorite, then she tragically broke 2 legs as she crossed  the finish line, and had to be put down.

A sad tragedy, an unfortunate coincidence, another bad “break” for Hillary.

Illegal aliens are not immigrants

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

According to an AP story this morning, thousands of illegal aliens rallied yesterday in  A May Day protest , demanding their rights.

Their rights? How can an Illegal alien sneak across our border, breaking our laws, then demand their “rights”.

They are demanding citizenship, welfare, and an end to deportations.

Why?

Immigration is when a person comes here legally. Follows the laws, and applies for citizenship.

Stop clogging my country with law breakers.
